Gas‐Liquid Flow Patterns in a Rectangular Milli‐Structured Channel with Static Mixing Elements

The gas-liquid flow behavior through a milli-scaled channel provided with staggered herringbone-like static mixer was investigated using high-speed recordings. For three different substance systems consisting of water, 5 wt % acetic acid in aqueous solution, and propylene glycol as liquid phase nitrogen gas phase, patterns their transitions were determined by analyzing image sequences the summarized pattern maps. Surge flow, slug bubbly observed at rates. distribution between mainly depend on viscosity surface tension phase. By just reducing tension, is not observed, thus an early transition into regime takes place. An increase counteracts this effect.
